Former Sydney's Closet Intern in Design Competition

Former Sydney's Closet design intern, Ai Nguyen, recently took part in a Project Runway-esque design contest held by St. Louis Post Dispatch. Nguyen, a recent graduate of the Washington University School of Design, redesigned a decade-old mother-of-the-bride dress and made it modern and fashionable. You can see Nguyen's dress and vote for your favorite design at the St. Louis Post Dispatch Web site. Please vote for Ai!

Get Dressed

It's official! The latest fashion frenzy is all about dresses. How much so? Women's Wear Daily dubs 2007 "The Year of the Dress". Women of all ages delight in discovering dresses are "fun, practical and comfortable", says trend watcher Marshal Cohen. Dresses are so hot women can't wait for special occasions to wear them. They slip dresses on for work, lunch, dinner, a hot date or going to a club. The appeal is obvious. Wearing a dress is easy and simple unlike trying to coordinate different pieces. You put it on and you're ready to go! Plus it saves money. At Sydney's Closet we see the frenzy every day as dresses fly out the door including our super popular collection of plus size cocktail dresses!
