German Magazine Bans Professional Models

American magazine editors might want to turn to the pages of Brigette,
Germany's most popular women’s magazine, for a fresh approach to featuring the latest fashions, beauty and fitness. Brigette's editor, Andrea Lebert,is banning professional models after readers complained they no longer wanted to see "protruding bones" on reed-thin models. Starting next year, Brigette will feature “real women” as models, including some pretty well-known personalities.
But the magazine also intends to photograph typical women and showcase them in their everyday lifestyle roles readers can easily relate to: college student, head of the board of directors, musician or athlete.

Would you like to see such a ban issued for magazines published in the U.S.?
